Shared ambition with Florida provides strong local support

By Maurice Garvey

BUSINESSES have the opportunity to broaden their economic development Stateside – with South Dublin Chamber organising a four-day trade mission to Florida (May 30 to June 2).

In September 2015, South Dublin Chamber and the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Florida signed a co-operative agreement to further develop links and explore the establishment of business and trade relations between the two regions.

This trade mission is a reciprocal visit following up on the visit by the Tampa delegation last September, and the delegation will be led by South Dublin County Mayor Sarah Holland.

Objectives for the trip are to promote South Dublin County/region as a place for inward investment, to investigate business opportunities, strengthen links already established, improve agency links from South Dublin to Tampa, and develop an understanding of business opportunities of bi-lateral trade within the USA.

The chamber agreement last year coincided with South Dublin County signing a Sister Cities Agreement Partnership with Tampa, Florida.

South Dublin Chamber say a “shared ambition” with Florida provides members with the support of Florida’s strongest chamber and connectivity to the US Chamber network.

The chamber has established connections with Scandinavian and UK cities – Tampa represents another international opportunity for businesses.

The four-day trade mission will include presentations between delegation partners, agency meetings, business networking, and guided tours.

Cost of attending the trade mission is €2,150, which includes flights, hotel accommodation, three meals a day, guided tours, service tips, and all internal transport.

After April 7, bookings may incur an increased flight charge. Tickets are for economy class.
