Teen arrested in connection with fatal stabbing of man (52) in Balgaddy, Lucan

A MAN in his late teens is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred at Buirg an Ri Walk in Balgaddy, Lucan last night at around 10.20pm.

According to gardai, a 52-year-old male received serious stab wounds last night, Wednesday, February 7, and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A 19-year-old man was arrested shortly after midnight and is currently detained at Ronanstown Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

According to a Garda statement: “A post mortem examination is scheduled to take place today and the local coroner has been notified.

“The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination.

“The Garda Technical Bureau are attending the scene.”

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident or who have any information to contact Lucan Garda Station on 6667382 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
