Gardai arrest 24 people in Tallaght after undercover operation targeting drug dealing

Gardai in Tallaght have made 24 arrests over the last two weeks in relation to an undercover operation run in 2016 targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the area.

The operation mounted in mid 2016 by the Street Purchasing Team, which is attached to the Drugs and Organised Crime Unit, was run in conjunction with the Tallaght Drugs Unit.

In a statement released today, a Garda spokesperson said: “During the course of this operation over ‘74’ buys were made.

“24 people were arrested over the last two weeks and have been charged.

“They will appear before Tallaght District Court on Monday, 24th July 2017.”
