Man's body discovered at football pitch in Tallaght

GARDAI are investigating the discovery of a man's body on the Old Bawn road in Tallaght this morning, with initial investigations suggesting that the death was not suspicious.

The man's body was discovered on a soccer pitch which lies along the Old Bawn road at 10.30am, from which time the area was sealed off by gardai.

Echo.ie understands that the man was out last night and didn't return home, with gardai investigating the possibility that his passing was a sudden death.

Speaking to Echo.ie, a Garda source said: "A body was discovered on the Old Bawn road this morning at around 10.30am.

"We currently have no reason to believe that his death was suspicious, there is nothing to suggest that a crime has been committed at the moment. 

"We are keeping an open mind... and investigating the circumstances now."
