By Mary Dennehy

THE community-led NINA for Life Sunrise Walk is being held this Saturday, May 12, with all money raised going towards education and awareness around positive mental health locally.

Organised by NINA for Life Suicide Awareness, a community-led organisation that provides education and promotes suicide awareness, the annual Sunrise Walk is open to the entire community.

Those interested in being part of this supportive event are invited to meet at the Kingswood Community Centre at 4am on Saturday, May 12 – with the walk starting at 4.15am.

According to a post on NINA's Facebook page today: "On May 12, our light will spread across Kingswood...bringing people together to support all those struggling with life, and to remember all our loved ones lost by suicide.

"Please come walk with us...and help break the stigma of mental health. Together we are strong."

Registration, which costs €15 for adults and €8 for children, includes the walk, a t-shirt and a breakfast roll and cup of tea afterwards.
