On This Day in 1982: Who remembers playing 'jumping sticks'?

Who remembers playing ‘jumping sticks’ when they were younger?

We definitely have a few lovers of the game in the office, and on this day in 1982 children from a Dublin suburb showed just how it was played.

As part of the ‘Breakaway’ series on RTE, the show featured seven programmes for young people.

Sadly the series only lasted for one season, but at least they managed to capture one of the best children’s games ever!

Ok, that may be a little bit extreme, but anyone who spent hours jumping over sticks in the middle of the road will know just how enjoyable it was.
