Operation Enable continues as Gardai say "Laziness is not a disability"

Gardai are continuing their crackdown on drivers illegally parking in disabled parking bays and fraudulently using disabled parking permits.

Over the past month they have been sharing images and information about drivers found to be in breach of the laws, and this morning they shared the latest update in relation to Operation Enable.

According to Gardai, the driver of a taxi had parked in a disabled spot while in a local shop.

The driver was issued an €80 fixed charged penalty notice.

A Garda spokesperson said: “An expensive trip to the shop. €80 Fixed Charge Notice issued. Laziness is not a disability.”
