Teen (19) charged in connection with fatal stabbing in Lucan

A TEENAGER has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 52-year-old man in Balgaddy, Lucan, on Wednesday night.

Gardai have this afternoon confirmed that a 19-year-old male has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing – and that he will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this afternoon (Friday, February 9) at 4.30pm.

The 52-year-old man, named locally as Bryan Cassidy, was stabbed several times at Buirg an Ri Walk in Balgaddy on Wednesday night at around 10.20pm.

He was pronounced a short time later at the scene.

According to a Garda spokesperson: “Gardai at Lucan investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred at Buirg an Ri Walk, Balgaddy, at approximately 10.20pm on Wednesday, February 7, have charged a 19-year-old in connection with the incident.”
