Ballyfermot's Dillon Sheridan takes home Golden Boot Award from CP World Cup

Ballyfermot’s Dillon Sheridan picked up the Golden Boot award at the Cerebral Palsy World Cup in Argentina, with the striker netting 10 times as the Republic of Ireland finished sixth overall.

The Boys in Green went into their fifth/sixth place play-off against USA knowing whatever the result they would finish in their highest ever position in the tournament.

Sheridan took his hot-streak on front of goal all the way to the final game, scoring one of Ireland’s two gaols as they were beaten 3-2.

All eyes will know be on next year in Holland, with the European Championships set to take place there, and with an average age of just 21, this squad look certain to improve and mature over the next 12 months.
