Ava’s (10) football passion will inspire other players

STARTING football at the age of six, 10-year-old Ava Buckley shows off her juggling skills while her devotion to the sport grows, reports London Brazil.

No matter the time of day, Ava can be found with a football, always getting the chance to practice her beloved sport.

On a recent vacation, she recorded herself juggling a ball with the beautiful sunset behind her in Wexford. Ava’s video captures her genuine love for the sport as she continues to practice every chance she gets.

Currently, Ava plays for the U11s girl’s team in Clondalkin Celtic FC coached by Paul Brennan and John Buckley. The girls are in the middle of their first league season and are performing skillfully together as a cohesive team.

In 2019, Ava entered a 20×20 competition to become a mascot. The goal of 20×20 is to gain more media coverage of women in sport, gain more female participation as players, coaches, referees and at administrative levels, and gain more attendance at women’s games and events.

Ava’s submission was chosen and a reaction video of her went viral. It was posted to the FAI  Ireland page with over 50 thousand views. In addition, it was shared across various social media platforms and shared as far as Mexico Women’s Football Club.

Ava’s inspirations are Kilnamanagh native Katie McCabe and Dublin native Stephanie Roche. One day, Ava hopes to become just as good as the Irish ladies.

She supports Manchester United and loves watching the sport as much as she loves playing it herself. Her main idol is Ronaldo and she will watch videos of him in action over and over.

Ava’s passion started from the great guidance of her coaches at the Clondalkin Celtic FC and continues to grow.

The young star is an inspiration to find a passion and let it foster into something beautiful.
