PLANS for a number of works to Templeogue Village, including the creation of two gateways, the relining and resurfacing of the existing cycle tracks and upgrading the public lighting and a pedestrian crossing, have now reached the public consultation stage, reports Aideen O’Flaherty.

The Templeogue Village Initiative outlines plans for the creation of two gateways to the village, one to be located at The Morgue crossing over to the old AIB bank, and another at Templeogue Tennis Club crossing over to the restaurants opposite the club and Atlas Car Repairs.

The existing cycle track and dual carriageway has been earmarked for relining and resurfacing, while the village’s public lighting will be upgraded to LED lighting and the lighting columns will be repainted.

There are provisions for the signalled pedestrian crossing at The Morgue to be upgraded.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development are available for inspection at South Dublin County Council’s offices in County Hall, Tallaght, until May 17.

Members of the public can now make submissions on the council’s plans online at until midnight on June 1, or by post to Senior Executive Officer, Roads Department, Land Use, Planning and Transportation, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24, to be received on or before 4pm on June 1.
