Makeup doesn’t seem to be high on our list of priorities when it comes to beauty products these days. Lockdown has shifted our beauty focus to things like, haircare, skincare and even nailcare.

Makeup trends and new product launches have not stopped but - with retail remaining closed - it is easy to miss out on what’s happening and new in the makeup world.

The overall idea for what is “in” is natural soft glowing makeup looks which is something I think most of us are happy to hear.

Trending a few weeks ago on Tik Tok was the comparison of 2016 makeup trends vs. 2021 and let’s just say that it probably isn’t a bad thing that we’ve outgrown our matte lipsticks, super full coverage foundations and overdrawn structured eyebrows.

Here are just a handful of products that have recently launched and are newly trending in the makeup world.

Cream Brush

NARS Air Matte Blush. Lookfantastic.ie 28 1

NARS Air Matte Blush. Lookfantastic.ie €28.45

Blusher brings back that natural healthy glow into your face and using a cream product can seem scary at first but it is a quick easy way to give your face a healthy lift - once you get the hang of it.

Brands are catching on to the cream blush hype like Nars newest launch of a lightweight blush pot that can be used on the lips too.

Cream Bronzer

ICONIC London Sheer Bronze. Lookfantastic.com 20 1

ICONIC London Sheer Bronze. Lookfantastic.com €20.45

For the last year or two Channels cream bronzer took the lead when it came to a simple way to sculpt your cheekbones.

Cream products are very flattering, especially on mature skin, with Iconic London launching their own creamy and easy to blend bronzer in six shades.

Individual Eyelashes

Luxury Cluster Lashes. Rebeluna.com 12 1

Luxury Cluster Lashes. Rebeluna.com €12.95

If you’ve ever had a mini breakdown getting ready for night out because your full strip eyelash won’t stick down, individuals might be for you.

They are much easier to work with and you can customise the look by only sticking a few on the outer corner of your eye or popping them all along your lash line for a fuller look.

Natural Skin Finish

Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint. Boots 1

Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint. Boots.ie €28

Skin tints and lightweight foundations are in and they feel amazing on your skin.

If you have blemishes or any discolouration, skin tints won’t provide the coverage you are looking for but that doesn’t mean they are not for you.

Pairing them with a high coverage concealer will cover what you need while looking natural.
