Footballing world in mourning after death of legend Maradona

THE footballing world is in mourning today following the passing of Diego Maradona, widely regarded as one of the greatest to ever play the game.

The Argentine legend died of a heart attack at his home in Buenos Aires at the age of 60.

He was the driving force behind his country's World Cup success of 1986 in Mexico and also led them to the final of the tournament in 1990.

The gifted superstar also made an indelible impact on Italian soccer after helping Napoli to two Serie A titles.

His passing has sparked tributes from right around the footballing world and throughout sport in general.
