Gardai arrest male (20s) in connection with early morning house fire in Tallaght

A HOUSE fire in Tallaght this morning is being treated by gardai as arson, with a male in his twenties arrested in relation to the incident.

Gardai and emergency services attended the scene of a house fire in Heatherview, Aylesbury, this morning at around 6.25am.

Four pumps from Tallaght and Dolphins Barn Fire stations attended the scene along with an emergency tender, ambulance and two district officers and a senior officer from Dublin Fire Brigade.

The Echo understands that people were in the house at the time of the blaze, but escaped without injuries.

In a statement to The Echo, a Garda spokesman said: “This is being treated as an arson incident and a male in his 20s has been arrested and is currently detained in Tallaght Garda Station.

“No injuries have been reported in relation to this incident.

“Investigations are continuing.”
