Gardai investigate attempted robbery of petrol station in Tallaght

GARDAI are investigating an attempted robbery of a petrol station in Tallaght this evening.

The Echo understands that a man entered the Circle K Service Station with an apparent firearm on the Tallaght bypass in Balrothery just before 4pm.

gardaHiVisJackets largeThe raider got away with no cash and there was no reported injuries during the incident.

Gardai searched the Balrothery area and Tymon Park and the Garda helicopter was brought in to assist in the search.

In a statement released this evening, Gardai confirmed to The Echo: “Gardai are investigating an attempted robbery at a service station in the Balrothery area of Tallaght that occurred today at approximately 3.50pm. 

“It is reported that a lone male entered the premises armed with an apparent firearm and demanded cash.

“No cash was handed over and the man left the scene. No injuries occurred. 

“Investigations are continuing”.
