Localised flooding due to heavy rain

Road users are advised to exercise caution this evening due to spots of localised flooding.
Met Eireann's Status Yellow rainfall warning remains in place across parts of Leinster including Dublin until 8pm tonight.

According to Met Eireann there is a risk of localised flooding due to today's heavy and persistent rainfall.
AA Roadwatch has advised: “Heavy downpours may lead to spot flooding, especially in coastal areas.
"Remember it takes longer to stop on wet roads, so slow down and leave extra braking distance.”
AA Roadwatch has also reported spot flooding across a number of routes including the M50 and Bothair Katharine Tynan.

According to AA Roadwatch, the left lane of Bothar Katharine Tynan inbound is impassable near the M50 due to spot flooding.
The Echo has also received reports of spot flooding in local areas including Belgard, Springfield and the Tallaght bypass at Jobstown.
The ESB are continuing to deal with a number of power outages in the Clondalkin area which are affecting homes, business and traffic lights across the area.
Multiple sets of traffic lights in the Clondalkin area have been out of action since earlier today due to the power failure.
According to AA Roadwatch, traffic lights are reportedly back working in Clondalkin this evening.
However, continued caution is still advised at all junctions in the area.
Hurricane Lorenzo is set to hit Ireland on Wednesday with gusts of winds of 120km/h, heavy rain and spot flooding expected.
