Progress on Have Your Say €300k project

PROGRESS has been made on most of the “Have your say €300” participative budget projects, the Lucan area committee of South Dublin County Council heard this week.

The Councillors were given a run down of the state of each project.

In relation to the playground in Waterstown Park, the council said they initiated a public consultation process last June.

The results of this are being examined with a view to commence a tender process before the end of 2017.

Lucan will be a good location for reading as SDCC are in the process of purchasing books for the free library books initiative.

The planting of native apple trees was one of the winning projects and the Council told the meeting that residents associations had been contacted around possible locations for the trees.

The Irish Seed Savers Association have been contracted to provide the trees. Christmas lights in Lucan is set to receive €17,000.

The Council is meeting with the local community and committees to discuss this year’s lights.

A feasibility study for the restoration of the Silver Bridge, will be presented to elected members as part of the Liffey Study.

The restoration of King John’s Bridge in Griffeen Park, continues as site clearance is being arranged so that a thorough condition survey can be undertaken and a list of required works established.
