A BREWING company plans to tap into the tourist industry, by bringing tour groups to their new headquarters in Inchicore.

Rascals Brewing Company was formed in 2014 by Emma Devlin and Cathal O’Donoghue.

The pair initially got their venture up and running in Greenogue Business Park in Rathcoole, and have won a number of industry awards.

After steadily building their brand and securing an investor, they decided to move to a larger premises – a former textile factory in Goldenbridge Industrial Estate.

Last year, Rascals received the go ahead from Dublin City Council to build a micro brewery at the Inchicore site.

In recent months, they submitted a planning application seeking permission for a pizzeria at the premises to complement the visitor experience.

According to the plans, the brewery will have six full-time staff, and they anticipate accommodating tourists who will arrive on a coach bus from guided tours.

The brewery itself is scheduled to host two guided tours per day, via booking only.

The pizza restaurant will have up to four full-time staff with seating for 60 people, and will offer food as part of a guided tour of the brewery.

It is not anticipated that visitors to the brewery will arrive by private car or by foot, but the area is well served by transport links, located close to Dublin Bus and Luas stops.

Works to fit out the Goldenbridge premises are currently ongoing – no beer has been produced on the two-storey site to date.

Dublin City Council have yet to make a decision on the pizzeria.
