Eimear shines in Southampton

EIMEAR Gannon from Knocklyon returned home from a Special Olympics Swimming Gala in Southampton with no less than three silver medals and two fourth place ribbons.

A participant in a four-year training programme ‘Steps to Independent Living’ (STIL), Eimear produced a fantastic performance in England, finishing runner-up in the 25m Freestyle, 25m Back Crawl and 25m Butterfly while taking fourth place in the both the 50m and another 25m Freestyle division.

A member of both the Vikings Swimming Club and the Irish squad, Eimear is sure to be back on the podium in more major competitions.
