Parents launch Emily and Eve affirmation cards for young minds

ONE of the newest local businesses established is Emily and Eve - a child orientated affirmation cards pack, inspired by the daughters of co-founders Sandra (42) and Jane Palles (38).
Originally from Kilnamanagh, the two mothers launched the product just before Christmas.

The pack contains 18 affirmation cards, illustrated by their five-year-old daughters Emily and Eve, an activity chart to track a kid’s progress, a postcard to send to someone special, and all wrapped up in a special envelope for safe keeping.
“Our ‘a ha’ moment came about over WhatsApp voice messages. The idea started as a community to support children during the pandemic,” said Sandra.
“We could see the struggle in our daughters with not seeing their friends, grandparents, missing the playground and trips to our local coffee shop. What could we do to lift their spirits keep them focused and positive? Our desire is to give children these gifts to teach them life lessons but also make it fun and magical so it feels natural.”
The pair launched the Emily and Eve affirmation cards to encourage positive thinking and wellbeing for young minds to pick daily.
Sandra said the main challenge for the business was in “trying to get to market for Christmas.”

“We are currently selling online across our social media platforms,” she said.
“It has been exciting. We have just gone to market this month and are busy marketing our product and in talks with stockists nationwide.”
Looking ahead, the co-founding sisters want to concentrate on “growing the business and building a community that can offer support.”
“We hope to grow our community to include resources for guest speakers on our website.”
