Clondalkin Tidy Towns holds talk with Birdwatch Ireland on swift conservation

CLONDALKIN Tidy Towns held a talk on the conservation of swifts with Birdwatch Ireland last Thursday, May 19 at the Round Towers GAA Club.

Speaking to The Echo ahead of the event, CTT chairman Ronan Connolly said: “The evening will comprise a one-hour presentation by Brian Caffrey of Birdwatch Ireland on swifts in Ireland their conservation, with a particular focus on what people and groups can do in their local villages, towns and cities to play their part in protecting the swift.”

The talk was followed by a guided walk in Clondalkin village, where the eagle-eyed birdwatchers spotted a swift flying high by the Round Tower and a pair flying by the church.
