He was before Judge Brennan for the DPP directions.

Clarke, aged 44, with an address at Killinarden Estate, Tallaght, is charged with simple possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine for sale or supply, simple possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis for sale or supply at the above address on March 22, 2016.

On Friday, he was also charged with possession of cocaine for sale or supply with a value of €13,000 or more at the above address on March 22, 2016.

The court had heard it will be alleged that Clarke and a co-accused were found in possession of cocaine worth €23,000 and cannabis worth €1,299.

Detective-Garda Shona Moran told Judge Brennan that she arrested Clarke in the precincts of the court at 10.39am on Friday morning. She said Clarke was later charged and he made no reply when charged. Det-Garda Moran said the DPP had directed trial on indictment. She asked for a remand for service of the book of evidence.

Clarke’s solicitor, John O’Leary, consented to the remand.

Extending bail to the new charge sheet, Judge Brennan remanded Clarke on continuing bail to a date in February for service of the book of evidence.
