No bus or Luas service tomorrow as country prepares for lockdown

There will be no Dublin Bus or Luas services operating tomorrow (Friday) due to adverse weather conditions.

The red-status weather warning was extended until 3pm tomorrow, with Met Eireann forecasting blizzards and dangerous conditions.

People are advised not to leave the house after 4pm today. 

Dublin Bus confirmed this afternoon: “Dublin Bus services are not operating today, Thursday 1 March.

“Due to the Red Weather Warning in place until 3pm tomorrow for blizzard conditions and further snow accumulations, combined with anticipated road conditions, Dublin Bus will not be in a position to operate any services tomorrow, Friday, March 2.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused, however this decision has been made in the interest of the safety of our customers and employees.

“We will monitor the situation closely tomorrow and take advice from Met Éireann and the National Emergency Co-ordination Committee regarding our services on Saturday, 3 March.

“We advise customers to visit this page and our Twitter account @dublinbusnews for any further updates.”

The company also stated that Nitelink services would not operate on Friday night or Saturday morning.

Luas services were suspended from 12pm today, and will not resume tomorrow, according to an online update from Transport for Ireland.

Irish Rail train services are not expected to operate before 12 noon on Friday 2nd March on any route.
