MORE than 100 Trick or Treat boxes were delivered to children living across the community with complex needs and their siblings.

Organised by parent-led group Sensory Fun with Friends and supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS), the boxes were packed with plenty of goodies and fun activities to celebrate Halloween at home.

Sensory Fun with Friends provides a range of activities for children with sensory needs, and was created by local parents in response to a lack of activities that all siblings within a family could do together.

Speaking with The Echo, Lynn Byrne, one of the founding parents, said: “Our friends in AWS have worked with us to come up with a new alternative to bring Halloween home for our family members.

“Sensory Fun with Friends would like to thank Tom Carroll and his AWS team for their efforts in putting together this special Halloween surprise for our families.”

More than 100 Halloween boxes were delivered to member families that registered for the event.

“The boxes help to make people feel a little more connected to their community”, Lynn said.

“If you can’t get to Halloween, Halloween will get to you!

“These are very challenging times and we’re offering support where we can.

“We have to try and stay positive, stay optimistic, and if there’s any families out there in need of support or feeling overwhelmed, please get in touch.

“We also do online activities all of the time and have plans for Christmas.”
