
€10m Annamore Court in running for housing award
THE recently opened €10 million senior citizens development Annamore Court, in Ballyfermot, has been shortlisted for the Allianz Community Housing Awards 2017.
The Iveagh Trust Annamore Court housing project was shortlisted for the prestigious award by the Irish Council for Social Housing (ICSH).
In recent weeks, the ICSH announced 25 housing schemes for the awards, including South Dublin County Council, Dublin City Council and Vincent de Paul among the shortlisted finalists.
The biennial competition that celebrates excellence within the social housing sector – showcasing the best in housing for older people, homeless projects, housing for people with disabilities, regeneration, collaboration initiatives, community integration and housing management.
Dr Donal McManus, Chief Executive of the ICSH said the projects submitted for the awards “are very much local responses to local housing need and they reflect the diversity and innovative work of housing associations, housing cooperatives and local authorities across the country.”
The entries are some of the highest quality since the awards began in 2003,” he said.
“The spread of entries and shortlisted projects from new builds to regeneration and the re-use of vacant properties are a strong signal of what can be achieved for people in need of social housing”.
The awards take place in the Limerick Strand Hotel on September 27-28.
