25,000 litres of laundered fuel marked as “apple juice” seized by Revenue
Revenue officers at Dublin Port have seized 25,000 litres of laundered fuel which was marked as “apple juice”.
One man, aged in his 30s, was arrested after the discovery last night.
The truck, which was stopped based on routine profiling, was about to board a ferry to Holyhead and was said to be carrying “apple juice”.
In a statement released this afternoon, a Revenue spokesperson said: “Revenue officers inspected the load and found 26 industrial bulk containers of fuel.
“Revenue seized the truck along with approximately 25,000 litres of fuel, suspected to be laundered marked gas oil.
“The driver, a Northern Ireland national in his mid-thirties, was questioned and investigations are underway, with a view to prosecution.”
