Two building projects in progress at 41 acre site in TU Dublin Tallaght

TWO new building projects are currently in progress on the 41 acre TU Dublin Tallaght campus with planned completion dates in 2021.
TU Dublin lodged plans to construct a four storey teaching building with South Dublin County Council this week.

The building is a 5,200 m2 multi-disciplinary building as part of the Government’s PPP programme, combining teaching space, hospitality and culinary arts as well as engineering and apprenticeship activities.
Included in the latest plans is the construction of a four storey general teaching building comprising teaching spaces, class kitchens and restaurant, lecture theatres, labs and computer rooms, breakout spaces and ancillary service area with roof level plant.
The plans include the landscaping works including the provision of a kitchen garden, orchard and wildflower meadow with beehives; 28 covered cycle parking spaces and all associated site development, site services, landscaping and boundary treatment works.
The second building is a Sports Science, Health and Recreation building including outdoor sporting facilities which was reported in The Echo earlier in the year.
This building will provide students and staff access to new state of the art facilities that will enhance the learning environment and career opportunities for its students.
The new buildings will include teaching and learning spaces, studios, lecture theatres, research facilities, design studios and a training restaurant.
“This new capital investment in teaching, learning and research facilities in TU Dublin, Tallaght further supports our commitment to the South Dublin region where members of local organisations and students will collaborate in modern facilities, which will promote research and student learning, while also directly addressing the needs of industry and organisations in the region” said a TU Dublin spokesperson.
