Echo Year in Review: December 2021
As the Christmas season began, December saw the ramp up of the booster vaccine programme amid a significant rise in Covid-19 cases and the new Omicron variant.
In the first week of the month, Storm Barra battered Ireland, leaving thousands of homes without electricity and forcing schools to close for two days. December also saw Christmas cheer being spread across the county as people began to put up lights and decorations to celebrate the festive season.
