Book of condolences opens for Lisa, Christy and Chelsea
A BOOK of condolences to allow the community to express their sympathies to the families of Lisa Cash, and twins Christy and Chelsea Cawley from Rossfield has opened at South Dublin County Council offices in Tallaght.
Lisa Cash (18) and twins Christy and Chelsea Cawley (both 8) fatally died following a violent incident in Rossfield estate in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Following an intervention by Garda Armed Support Unit members, involving the discharge of less than-lethal devices, a male in his early 20s was arrested at the scene.
The male is currently detained at Tallaght Garda Station under section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Members of the public can sign the book of condolences, which was opened by Mayor Emma Murphy today, at County Hall in Tallaght or online on the South Dublin County Council website.
Mayor Murphy said: “I was deeply saddened by the tragic events in our local community in Rossfield this weekend.
“My heartfelt condolences go to the family of Lisa Cash and her beautiful twin siblings Christy and Chelsea Cawley.
“The Community in Tallaght is devastated by their loss and my thoughts, and the thoughts of the wider community in South Dublin are with the Cash and Cawley families at this time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anamacha dílse.”

Elsewhere, local church St Aidan’s in Brookfield opened its doors at 8.30am this morning and will remain open all day for anyone who wishes to go in and say a prayer or light a candle for Lisa, Christy, Chelsea and their family, friends and neighbours.
Parish Priest Father Bill will be available throughout the day at the church for anyone in need of a chat in trying to comprehend this tragedy.
Staff in An Cosán Community Education Centre said that there is a counselling team available to all members of the community over the coming days.
A statement released from An Cosán said: “All at An Cosán, including our Board, CEO, staff and volunteers, send our heartfelt condolences, sympathy and love to the family, friends and wider community affected by the tragedy in Rossfield.
“Our thoughts are with all family members and friends of the children and young adult who lost their lives. May they rest in peace.
“An Cosán’s counselling team is available to all members of the Tallaght community over the coming days and in the difficult period ahead”.
