Adamstown Celbridge Link Road gets the green light
By Aideen O'Flaherty
PLANS for a Celbridge Link Road in Adamstown, Lucan will now be going forward after being granted planning permission.
There are plans for the road to be a two-way single carriageway, which will link the Adamstown SDZ lands to the Celbridge Road, covering a distance of approximately 810 metres in length.
Conditions to planning granted include bat sensitive lighting and submission of badger survey
There are provisions for new footpaths and cycles tracks in both directions of the road, and there are plans for a new signalised junction where the proposed Celbridge Link Road meets the Celbridge Road.
A new uncontrolled T-junction where the proposed link road meets Tubber Lane is also included in the plans, as is a new vehicular cul-de-sac with turning facilities on Tubber Lane on the eastern side of the proposed road.
There are plans for the construction of boundary treatments and appropriate landscaping works and public lighting, and an environmental report has been prepared in respect of the proposed development.
It is also noted that the proposed road scheme has undergone appropriate assessment screening under the Habitats Directive, and it has been determined that an Appropriate Assessment is not required.
South Dublin County Council granted permission to the applicant, Adamstown Infrastructure DAC, last month for the construction of the link road, with a number of conditions.
These conditions include the implementation of bat sensitive lighting, and the submission of a badger survey and obtaining any required licenses necessary from the National Parks and Wildlife Services.
