All-weather multi-purpose sports pitch for Adamstown
SOUTH Dublin County Council has granted permission for an all-weather, multi-purpose sports pitch at a site in Adamstown in Lucan.
The applicant, Adamstown Infrastructure DAC, outlined plans for the 2,016 sq. m pitch to be bounded by six-metre-high ball stop fencing, to include gates, and for floodlighting to be provided by six 12-metre-high columns.
There are provisions for 72 car parking spaces, to include five disability accessible spaces, which will be accessed by an entry-only point and a separate exit point to Station Road.
It is proposed that there will be 2.4-metre-high temporary boundary fencing to the north and west of the site.
There are also provisions for all ancillary landscape and site development works on lands bounded by the site of a permitted community centre with a sports hall to the east, Station Road to the south and undeveloped lands fronting onto Adamstown Park to the west.
The council granted permission for the development on July 18, with a number of conditions.
These conditions include limiting and preventing the generation of unacceptable levels of environmental noise pollution during works, and lighting columns are prohibited from being located within the eventual canopy spread of any proposed street tree or other trees.
