Applications invited for community grants

APPLICATIONS are invited for South Dublin County Council’s Community Grants programme 2017.

The Community Grants programme is aimed at providing financial assistance to community and voluntary groups who are responding to locally identified needs within their communities.

Multi-purpose community centres can apply for a maintenance grant of up to €6,000, if they demonstrate the need for assistance.

The grant can be used to assist with cleaning costs, upkeep, insurance costs, general repairs, security, hire of equipment and meeting health and safety regulations.

New or existing community centres can apply for a grant up to a maximum of €30,000 to fund positions of employment.

Centre-managed projects can apply for a seed management/employment grant up to a maximum of €8,000.

Grants are also available for community centres to upgrade their IT, up to a maximum of €5,000.

A wide range of grants are available to community groups for costs, projects, activities and events.

The closing date for receipt of fully completed application forms is Friday, March, 31, 2017.
