Artists bringing some colour to local communities through Dublin Canvas project

If you have been travelling around the city lately you may have spotted some new art bringing a little bit of colour and vibrancy to our streets.

Using the many traffic light control boxes, artists of all ages have been invited to ‘colour in the city’, with those involved given the freedom to introduce ‘less grey and more play’.

The community project is funded and supported by Dublin City Council. It began during the summer and will run until late autumn.

In recent weeks the project has spread to local communities, and we wanted to share some of our favourite pieces, which have been spotted in areas including Ballyfermot, Terenure, Templeogue, Inchicore, Crumlin, and more.

Dublin Canvas presently covers each of Dublin City Council’s five main areas; Central Area, North Central Area, South East Area, South Central Area and North West Area.

We are currently in talks about expanding project with various council’s throughout Ireland.

Future announcements on expansion of platform will be announced through the Dublin Canvas social media accounts and to our mailing list subscribers.
