AsIAm Run4Autism family fun day in Corkagh Park

A FAMILY fun day takes place at Corkagh Park, Clondalkin on Sunday, July 30, reports Maurice Garvey.

The 5k AsIAm Run4Autism is back, celebrating its fifth anniversary and promises to be the best one yet.

AsIAm, Ireland’s National Autism Charity, is calling on members of the autistic community and wider public to sign-up.

The primary goal is to raise essential funds for autism services, providing crucial support to individuals and families.

No prior running experience is required and participants of all abilities are welcome to walk or run the 5K route known as Georgia’s Way in memory of Georgia Callan who tragically died in an accident in Spain five years ago.

Gates open at 11am on the day and festivities will kick off at 12 noon.

This year’s event will have an exhibitor area and entertainment village which will include an array of activities including face painters, mini-zoo, magicians, live music, and of course ice-cream!

Adam Harris, CEO of AsIAm, said: “This event is a critical fundraising event for AsIAm, in order for the organisation to continue to offer the supports we currently do, we need to raise over €2m each year. The money we raise goes directly to support all of the services we offer to the autistic community throughout the year including the Autism Information Line, a range of social and employment programmes.”

In signing up for this event, all participants will receive branded merchandise and a medal and refreshments. AsIAm is encouraging people and groups to fundraise whilst they partake in the event to drive much needed funds for autism services.

Entry fees are €25 per adult, €12.50 for a child and €65 for a family of four.
