Audition Time fro Lucan One-Act Festival
Lucan Drama is holding auditions for the Lucan One-Act Festival. For said festival, the group will be performing four plays on stage from October 24–28, writes Ryan Butler.
Preparation for these performances will involve 1-2 nights of rehearsals per week for eight weeks.
Every cast member must learn their lines, the set building crew must construct the set, and the group will need to start promoting the hiring of the seats, costumes, and props. Additionally, the director must block each play.
According to Mary Guy, chairperson for the group, “one of our one-act plays called MIM will be taking part in the All-Ireland One-Act Festival from the end of October to the beginning of December.”
The group will then ask for their full-length play to be submitted, which will be performed in May 2024.
Auditions for the full-length play will usually occur towards the start of February.
Mary would like to thank “each and every member of our group for all their hard work throughout the year”, as well as the family and friends of the group, all of their audiences, and Frank and all the staff at the Lucan Spa Hotel.
