Beauty Buddy app lets consumer take control

TWO sisters from Kilnamanagh recently launched their beauty reviewing app, called Beauty Buddy, and it’s now available to download from the app stores on Apple and Play.

Wendy Slattery and Tracy Leavy created Beauty Buddy as an app for ‘Beauty Buddies’ to review all manner of beauty products, including cosmetics and hair products, to help people to make buying decisions and to ascertain whether the product they are thinking of buying is the right one for them.

Alongside the unbiased beauty reviews, app users will also gain access to the virtual make-up bags of make-up artists and influencers, and recommendations and tutorials for thousands of beauty products, including brands such as L’Oréal, Charlotte Tilbury and MAC.

Wendy Slattery, co-founder and CEO of Beauty Buddy said: “Every new user who downloads the app joins our amazing community of Beauty Buddies.

“As consumers, we can feel overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the beauty industry, including which products to buy etc., and we waste a lot of time and money (the average woman spends more than €80,000 during their lifetime on beauty and cosmetic products) in keeping up with the latest trends.

“The Beauty Buddy allows consumers to take the power into their own hands and provides them with access to a community of like-minded buddies, that allows them to share ratings, reviews, advice, top tips, product recommendations and tutorials.

“With hundreds of products added daily, consumers can access the app at home, on the go, or whilst in the shops.

“If a consumer is unsure about a product, they can simply scan or search the product to discover, review and decide about that product, allowing them to make an informed decision whilst decluttering their bathroom cabinets.”

Beauty Buddy has the largest number of product reviews available, all generated by Beauty Buddies within the app, and the two founders of the business are already seeing success – as they won a share of the second annual AIB Women in Enterprise programme last October for the app.

To use the app, you need to download the Beauty Buddy app from the Apple or Play store, scan the barcode of a beauty or cosmetic product or search by product name, and Beauty Buddy will provide you with live information including directions of use, ingredients, tutorials, ratings, reviews and lots more from other global beauty buddies.
