Benefits to 71 groups from community grants of €200k

LOCAL groups are to benefit from community grants, with over €200,000 being allocated to 71 groups across South County Dublin.

South Dublin County Council Community Development and Sports Development Grants reopened for applications on April 5, inviting community and voluntary groups to apply for assistance under various categories.

Quarryvale Family Resource Centre have received funding 

Applications totalling 140 were received for the grants, with €202,245 in total approved for 79 grants for 71 local groups.

Several community centres received funding from the grant scheme such as Adamstown Youth and Community Centre, which received €4,000 for Management Assistance. Ballyowen Castle Youth and Community Cente received €3,000 and Bawnogue Youth and Community Centre received grants under three separate categories totalling in €7,390. 

Palmerstown Community and Youth Centre received a re-opening grant of €1,030 and a management assistance grant of €4,000.

Sports clubs and teams will also benefit from the community grants – Esker Amateur Boxing received a Sports Development Grant of €1,899 and Weston Hockey Club received €4,750.

Other community groups to receive funding under the scheme were Quarryvale Family Resource Centre, who received two grants totalling €4,500 and the Quarryvale FRC Clondalkin Cares Food Bank received a minor equipment grant of €1,149.

The Order of Malta Clondalkin Unit received Covid- 19 Resilience Funding of €1,000 and The Order of Malta Palmerstown Unit received €500 for running costs. North Clondalkin Community Development Programme CLG received €3,668 for major equipment and Newcastle Lyons Development Trust received €3000 for management assistance.
