
Bringing virtual reality into the 21st century

SCHOOLS in Tallaght celebrated the launch of an exciting new cluster digital project: ‘Integration of Virtual Reality (VR) into 21st Century Teaching, Learning and Assessment’.
St Mark’s Senior National School is the lead school in the cluster of four schools participating in this exciting new project.

The other three local primary schools in the cluster are St Thomas’ SNS, St. Anne’s Primary School and Sacred Heart SNS.
Teachers and students in each of the four schools have already begun to use VR and digital learning to stimulate their learning experiences across the school curriculum. The Department of Education is funding this project through the ‘Schools Excellence Fund – Digital’ to support innovative Digital Learning Experiences’ for schools. The project provides the students and teachers with wonderful opportunities to delve into the world of Virtual Reality (VR) and experience 21st Century, digital learning far beyond the confines of the classroom and local environments.
This project will run for a period of three years and all the schools involved have agreed to this commitment.
