Busy time for ‘TheTwoDubs’ – Tallaght brothers appear on TG4 and The Civic

By Leopold Herter

A lot is happening for the music duo Frank and Paul Flynn from Avonmore right now – they will appear on TG4’s Réalta Agus Gaolta in early 2020, as well as on stage at The Civic theatre.

In the TV show Réalta Agus Gaolta a panel of judges are searching for Ireland’s most talented family.

The brothers got in touch with Réalta Agus Gaolta after Frank saw details of the show on Facebook.

TheTwoDubs, as they call themselves, are keeping quiet about the outcome of the show – it was recorded in late 2019 – but said that they are “very happy” with their performance and the feedback from the judges.

“We’ve been playing music all our lives,” Frank told The Echo.

He used to sing in the choir amongst other things back in his youth – his brother Paul played the guitar.

As they got older the brothers never lost touch with their love of music and began to play as semi-professionals in 2012.

They appear in The Civic next Saturday, January 11 when they support singer and actor George Murphy.

“We’re going to pick six of our best songs, including songs from The Dubliners, The Fureys and Paddy Reilly, but also an original song.”

To book the Tallaght brothers, who focus on Irish Folk and ballads, for your own event visit www.thetwodubs.com or call Frank on 085-8014010.
