Carmelite Sisters’ legacy is remembered and celebrated
A PLAQUE commemorating the Carmelite Sisters’ 190-year presence in Firhouse was unveiled in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church last Sunday, July 28.
Home to the enclosed order of nuns from 1827 to 2017, the Carmelite Monastery on the Firhouse Road played an integral role in community development in the area.
