Centre logo represents community as a whole

KNOCKMITTEN Youth and Community Centre encouraged residents to come up with a new image for the facility via a logo competition.
Centre Manager David Cuadra said they were looking for a new logo that would be “inclusive and represent the community as a whole”.
To motivate participants, the centre announced prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place of €50, €30 and €20 respectively.
Run over a number of weeks, the centre received a good response with numerous entries.
Three logos were shortlisted to be the centre’s image after a vote by board of management members.
First place went to Abbie Larkin, a second year student from Colaiste Bride, second place to Rosie Armstrong, from Funky Art, in Clondalkin Youth Service, and third place went to Aoife Kelly, also a second year student from Colaiste Bride.
“The logo that won first place will be the logo for the community centre hopefully before the year ends,” said Mr Cuadra.
“The first place was chosen not only for its design but also for the slogan that it comes with – coming together as a community.
“We would love to see this logo contest reaching its aim of having Clondalkin and Knockmitten creating, participating and ‘coming together as a community’.”
