Children as young as 10 involved in attempted burglary
By Maurice Garvey
TWO children were involved in an attempted burglary of a home in Terenure on Saturday afternoon.
The minors were aged 10-11-years-old and were accompanied by an adult who monitored the situation from across the road, according to an eyewitness.
At approximately 1.15pm, a neighbour heard a banging noise, and saw two minors on a side roof of a property at College Park.
When neighbours approached the house, the kids fled down the road on foot towards the KCR, followed by a man in a silver car, thought to be a Toyata Avenis.
The minors had tried to smash through a front window in broad daylight, before moving onto the side roof.
A Garda spokesman said: “Gardai are investigating an incident at College Park today at 13.13pm. An attempt was made to break a patio door at the rear of a house. Nothing was stolen.”
