Citywest campus firms raise €8,900 for LauraLynn charity
FOR the 12th year running, the Citywest Wellness Walk for LauraLynn returned and took place on Thursday in The Citywest Business Campus with €8,900 raised for the children’s hospice.
Officially started by Mayor Alan Edge, there was a big turnout from the local businesses on the campus for the charity event and there was a great fun atmosphere on the day.
One of the organisers of the event, Tom Fitzpatrick, said: “This is the 12th year we have had a charity event in the Citywest Campus.
“LauraLynn is such a deserving charity. It is Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice providing care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families from across Ireland.”
“We had great support from local businesses who sponsored the event including: Riverwalk Citywest, Fiat, Citywest Business Campus, Visual ID, Snap Printing Citywest, KAL, Premier Business Centre, Tonstix and Specialized Bike store”.
After the walk there were refreshments like HB ice cream, water, Rice Crispy bars, Cliff Cereal Bars, Kilmeaden snack bar cheese and Mooju chocolate milk
There was a mega prize draw with 4 spot prizes given out, including Ninja Woodfire BBQ Grill, NordMende 50” Smart TV, 2 Overnight Hotel breaks and a €150 One4All gift voucher. There was also lots of givaway spot prizes from Bel Cibo restaurant Citywest and The Lean Bean Café in Citywest.
Liz Quinn from LauraLynn said: “We really appreciate the amazing funds raised by the Citywest Wellness Walk as well as raising awareness. The number of referrals to LauraLynn is increasing so these funds are very much needed right now, especially as we expand our services. Thanks a million for all your time and effort and thinking of the children and families in our care.”
