
Community alerted to steer clear of illegal waste collection in Clondalkin

SOUTH Dublin County Council has received reports of an illegal waste collection due to take place in Clondalkin today, and has encouraged householders to not leave any rubbish out.
The council has warned against using the alleged illegal waste collection, which is due to take place in the Dunawley area of Clondalkin today (Friday, June 29).
Alerting the community through its Twitter and Facebook pages, South Dublin County Council said: “SDCC have had reports of an illegal waste collection to take place today in the Dunawley Area, Clondalkin.
“Please do not leave any waste out for collection by unauthorised waste collectors as it is likely to end up illegally dumped elsewhere.
“Under the Waste Management Act 1996, it is a criminal offence for householders to give waste to bogus waste collectors which can lead to financial penalties and or 12 months imprisonment.
“SDCC request you report any planned illegal waste collections in your area to the Environment Section for investigation.”
