Cookstown based Food Processing Technology is acquired by NPP

NPP has secured the acquisition of Food Processing Technology Irl Limited (FPT).

FPT, based in Cookstown Industrial Estate in Tallaght, is a business with a 50 year history supplying a range of essential packaging materials primarily to the meat, fish and dairy sectors.

Dublin based company NPP has over 40 years experience in the industry. They combine best in class packaging, high performance machinery and systems along with a partnership approach to offer a complete packaging solution.

The addition of Food Processing Technology Irl Limited will bring the total number of NPP employees to 85, and with FPT’s revenue figure of €6m, this will enlarge NPP’s overall business by 10%.

David Duffy, Managing Director of NPP, welcomed the acquisition by saying: “FPT is a trusted key supplier to Ireland’s Food Industry and an excellent fit with NPP’s existing food contact business.

“With FPT, we further expand our product range of specialist materials to protect and extend shelf life.

“FPT has an impressive portfolio of customers and suppliers, and we are excited by the opportunity to further develop these relationships.

FPT company is headed up by its Managing Director, Mark Connolly, and has a workforce of seven people.

Mr Connolly said: “At FPT, we are looking forward to working together, developing and expanding our current product range alongside NPP’s high-calibre product portfolio.

“This acquisition represents an exciting time in the company’s history and provides a positive outlook for the future.”

FPT is a leading supplier of plastic, fibrous and collagen casings that are used to pack bacon joints and other cooked meats. The company also supplies a range of shrink bags, vacuum bags and laminate films.
