The couple, who are in their late 30s and have an address in Tallaght, are accused of failing to comply with school attendance notices in relation to two of their son’s attendance at a local national school and their daughters attendance at a local secondary school.

A solicitor for Tusla asked Judge Patricia McNamara to set a hearing date in the matter.

The couple’s counsel, Stephen Montgomery BL, asked the judge for one more remand date.

Judge McNamara said the case should proceed.

Mr Montgomery said his clients were pleading not guilty. Judge McNamara adjourned the case for three weeks for hearing.
