Crèche provision for staff of Tallaght Hospital

A NEW crèche for the staff of Tallaght Hospital is included within plans for the development of new staff accommodation in the hospital.

An application was submitted by the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board based in St James’s Hospital and will see the development of a 1,462 sq m building.

Included within the accommodation will be staff changing facilities, general office space, and the replacement crèche for children of the hospital staff.

The building will be located on a site to the rear of the hospital that is bordered by the staff restaurant, the education building and Cookstown Way.

It will be beside the existing Cardiac Research in Youth (CRY) building, with a physical link to be provided from the new accommodation back into the hospital street.

The crèche will be located on a single-storey to the north-west of the site, with the remaining two-storey accom-modation housing the office areas and staff changing to the south-east of the crèche.

Third-party submissions will be accepted on the application until August 2, with a decision on the application due by August 23.
