
Croker joy for Clonburris
STAR corner-forwards Eoghan Kinlough-Byrne and Sean Walsh brought about return to form for Clonburris in the Cumann na mBunscoil finals as they beat St Olaf’s 4-14 to 4-8.
Scoring 2-6 between them, Round Tower players Kinlough-Byrne and Walsh punished their opponents scoring 1-5 from frees to lift the Sciath Mhic Chaoilte.

Our Lady Queen of Apostles where fired into an early lead when wing-forward Dylan Healy picked up the ball on his right-wing and burst through Olaf’s backline and past the onrushing goalkeeper to find the net.
Ryan Gallagher was running the engine room for Clonburris and kept the scoreboard ticking as he chalked up 0-6, while Olaf’s where hot on their heel’s go into half-time.
Both teams traded blows but the Clondalkin side prevailed with Walsh meeting a high ball in the box and swivelling past the goalkeeper on landing before slotting in to the Dundrum sides net.
Pressure was mounting with Olaf’s turning up the heat and matching Clonburris the whole way with the scoreline.
A free from distance crept under the crossbar from the boot of Kinlough-Byrne and full-forward Adam Mahoney netted to propel Clonburris into the lead.
Captain Craig Curran linked up with fellow midfielder Gallagher repeatedly with the former getting the score of the afternoon when he beat four players and pointed from distance to win the game.
