Crowley to step down from C&C Board after nine years

BULMERS maker C&C Group sees a change in their management personnel with Vincent Crowley stepping down as senior independent director of the drinks group, reports Maurice Garvey.

Mr Crowley has been replaced by non-executive director Chris Browne.

Crowley will also step down from the C&C board after nine years at the company’s AGM in July.

“I would like to thank Vincent for his dedication to C&C and his significant contribution to the board as non-executive director, and senior independent director has been invaluable,” said Ralph Findlay, group executive chair of C&C.

“On behalf of the company and the board, we wish Vincent all the best for the future and are delighted to have Chris succeed him in this role.”

Headquartered at Bulmer House in Crumlin, C&C appointed Andrew Andrea as its new chief financial officer in December.

Mr Andrea will take up the position in March.

Meanwhile, C&C, who acquired Bibendum, announced that Burgundian wine producer Maison Champy, has joined the Bibendum business.

Maison Champy has a legacy dating back to 1720.

Five wines from the Champy range will be distributed into the UK through Bibendum. C&C Group reported “resilient” trading over the Christmas period.

Branded net revenue at the group rose 6 per cent in the ten months to December last year, while distribution net revenue dipped by 3 per cent.

C&C has manufacturing operations in Tipperary and Glasgow, owns Bulmers, Magners and Tennent’s, as well as brands such as Five Lamps and Orchard Pig.

The group exports its Magners and Tennent’s brands to over 40 countries. C&C’s annual results are due to be published in May.
