
Cyclist dies after road traffic collision in Dublin 8
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in the early hour of this morning in the Dublin 8 area.
According to Gardai a cyclist died following a traffic collision on Patrick’s Street, Dublin 8 at 12.44am.
The cyclist, a man in his 40s, was involved in a collision with a car.
He was removed by ambulance to St James’ Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the car was not injured.
A Garda investigation has begun into the crash and the scene if the incident was closed to facilitate an examination of the area by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
The road at the scene has now re-opened to traffic.
